How many girl scouts receive their bronze award?
Q. I Am going to get my silver award soon and i was wondering how many girls receive the various awards in girl scouting.
Asked by Eliza - Mon Dec 31 11:02:06 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I read that 5500 girl scouts received their Gold Award last year, but I don't know the answer to your question about the Bronze Award, but I would like to congratulate you on earning your Silver Award and to encourage you to continue working hard towards your Gold Award. As an Eagle scout I can identify with the level of commitment and service it takes to earn such an honor. Scouting is such a rewarding experience, keep up the good work!

What is a good name for an award given to a children's literature?
Q. Just like the Newbery or Caldecott, I want some ideas on an award that is awarded to a children's book. My friend thought of a good one. However, I want some good names and stuff that supports the thing. Ex. The Google Award - An award that is given to a book containing lots of information on Internet. Something like that. But I want it in a decent quality. Thank you.

Q. Our organisation is planning to send our Chairman s CV for the padma shri award..which is India s highest civilian award...i need help to make it very impressive in order to brighten his chances of getting selected..he deserves it as he has a done phenominal work for the poor and needy in terms of medical healthcare..
Asked by mayank s - Mon Jul 7 04:03:06 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. a CV use for nominating somebody for an award doesn't have to be different from an ordinary CV. In every awarding body, like the padma shri award, i believe they have their own format/form to be filled up for nominators. i suggest you contact that awarding body and ask for specifics. better yet, ask for nomination forms. what makes your nomination impressive is not the CV, but the documents (clippings, write-ups...) that you can include to support your data. hope i have in some way helped you! good day!

Q. 7 boys on the Varsity Ice Hockey Team suffered from various broken bones during the season; we are planning the year end banquet and would like to present these boys with an award (similar to the purple heart) for going down for the team. Any suggestions as to what we can give them/present to them? Would like something witty but serious too. Thanks!

A. Hi - I found out about this great company that turns photos into giant vinyl stickers. They are called iPixXL and they turned a photo of my son's baseball team into a giant sticker for their coach. It was an end of the year gift. Maybe you can get a photo of the team together when he was playing and have it turned into one of these. They are also removable and you can peel them off and stick them again anywhere you want. They stick to walls, windows, mirrors, cars... Good luck!

A. Show a floating ring gear assembly and ask how clean free energy can be produced from it. If you are smart and belive in God and Jesus, you will be allowed to see how it works. It has taken me over thirty years to see the final answer, but it was worth the pursuit. Upon seeing and understanding how it works, the rush is on as to who first presents it to the rest of the world in a working model. May you be a person of God and Jesus and then you will see how it is built. Trust me, it can be done. Dave.

Can PC Magazine be sued for giving another product the best product award?
Q. PC Magazine reviews a number of products and give one product the "Best Product" award. Unfortunately that is our competitors. However the magazine uses it's own review criteria and gives award. We believe if the products are reviewed with our methodology, we will be better than our competitors. Is there a case that the award the mag gave is not valid or does the mag have full rights to award they way they choose?
Asked by Michelle S - Mon Dec 24 15:10:40 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Sure you can sue, you wont win though! PC Magazine are giving an opinion. They are in fact saying " we prefer the product made by..." Anyone can say this. It is just the equivalent of me saying " I prefer Cadburys chocolate" The Mag. has the right to assess in the way they choose. Magazines like "Which" have been awarding products best buy awards since the 1950s. If it were possible to successfully sue they would have lost money in court actions by now. They havent.

A. Do you mean the Newbery Medal winners? If so, you can go to their site and check through all the medal winners from 1922 on. By the way, there are also Caldecott Medal winners. For some reason my computer won't let me get to the site which lists these book winners from 1938 on, but Wikipedia has a list. Check I hope you find the one for which you are looking. ***BTW: Winners of both those awards get a "medal" on the front cover of the book.

How to win high point award at horse show?
Q. To win the high point award for a horse show, entering classes can help you get there. Does the placing of the classes increase your chances of winning the high point?
Asked by unknown - Mon Aug 10 22:28:10 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Yes, placings are almost always the one and only way to win a high point award at a show. Each show can have different requirements for how they calculate high point, so you may want to check with the specific show so you understand their criteria. I show Paints at the breed level. They award high point to various catagories such as Amateur, Youth, Open, Novice amateur, etc. If I want to win the high point Amateur horse award, I'd need to determine what classes will count, and then enter those classes. APHA calculates things this way - if you win 1st you get 6 points, win second you get 5 points, and so forth, down to placing sixth earning you 1 point. At the end of the weekend show the Amateur with the most points is the winner. Points… [cont.]

Can a magazine be sued for giving award to my competitor but not me?
Q. My competitor products may not be better than our products, however they have just won an award from SC Magazine and our company has not. Can a magazine be sued for giving so much importance to our competitors. We can prove in a lab test that our products perform better than our competitors.
Asked by Michelle S - Mon Dec 24 15:06:40 2007 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The magazine is allowed to give awards to whoever they want to without being sued by other companies because they disagreed with the reward, even if there is laboratory evidence. Many magazines give extra publicity to advertisers willing to sign an annual agreement with them. If you beat them at their game and market your superior product successfully you will eventually overtake the competition. If someone is injured or suffered financial damages based on the content in the magazine, then it is possible that the magazine could be held liable, especially if the information came from their editorial staff and is not a paid advertisement.

A. You can't. You have to wait four hours before the bubbles appear. The bubbles read, "Choose as Best Answer," and they appear under each answer. You click the bubble beneath the answer you like best, and then it will take you to a page, where you need to rate the response, and then leave a message to the asker. Then, you scroll down a little and click SUBMIT. The answerer will receive ten points, and you will receive three.

Q. Then he uses his time when he accepts the award to announce to the world that he's going to be a proud father of a baby BOY any day. Do you really consider him to be a "positive" influence or role model for any child? His music reeks of sex, drugs and his life is only the same?

Winning a BET award is the Equivelant beating a speeding ticket in court. Its great for the moment, but its nothing to brag about a week later.lol

How important should number of wins be when picking a Cy Young award winner?
Q. When evaluating starters and their chances of winning the award, how much weight should be given to wins as compared to other categories?
Asked by Craig S - Wed Oct 24 10:47:57 2007 - - 17 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Not nearly as heavy a statistic as ERA, Quality Starts, WHIP, and almost anything else. A great pitcher should not be penalized for the lack of offense behind him. If he allowed one run and the offense couldnt bat one in... he takes a loss. On the other hand - Some other guy could allow 7 runs - but since his offense pounded in 12... he gets the win. It's decieving. This is exactly why I think CC will get the Cy Young before Beckett (although Beckett will get MVP of the WS... he's awesome in October).

What is a financial aid award letter and how can i get one?
Q. i am trying to apply for a scholarship and i need a financial aid award letter to apply.
Asked by Adrienne A - Sat May 30 20:05:27 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You need to go online to complete a FAFSA (federal applipacion for financial aid). That's your first step, it's required of everyone in the US applying for any kind of student aid. Your school will then send you a letter stating what you qualify for. That's what a financial aid award letter is: a letter stating what aid you've been awarded. It can come from the federal government or a private scholarship. But, if you're applying for a scholarship, they should have told you to complete the FAFSA. I don't know what scholarship you're applying for, but i'd be wary if I were you. They're really not making sense. www.fafsa.ed.gov
